Mandolin top nut in plastic

This plastic nut can be fitted on many instruments with eight strings including mandolin, tenor mandola, octave mandola, bouzouki. Nut sizes on these instrument do vary so check this is the size for your instrument.

These nuts can be used for left or right handed when fitted the ready marked string positions require further cutting the get the string height correct over the first fret and to take the strings gauges being fitted. If the string are too high at the first fret it raises the pitch so the note sounds sharp.

Ideally a set of gauged string files is required, but on a one off basis a junior hacksaw and  a needle file will do the job.
