J Clamp-5 string openback banjo, case, flush frets
Vintage John Clamp 5 string banjo
J Clamp, Newcastle Upon Tyne open back 5 string flush fret banjo circa 1890,
Walnut neck rim is a light wood, which I am unable to identify, it has walnut veneer on the outside.
I have replaced the mismatched tuners and nuts and hooks, with a set of English pattern boxwood violin tuners and new vintage style nuts and hooks.
It is strung with Chris Sands medium nylon strings and has a new high quality calf vellum head.
Refurbished and set up ready to play, comes in a modern hard case.
