Head Measurement Measure the rim with the head off, measure it in at least 3 directions and take an average. The rim is the hoop the head is stretched over, measure past the curves on the edge to the verticals. This is the head diametre you need to order, the head will be 1/16" larger in diametre than the rim for ease of fitting. There are three head heights available, arch tops usually require a low, some times a medium, when the tension hoop is over half an inch where the strings pass over it. For flat tops measure the tension hoop height where the strings pass over it, 3/8" low, 7/16” Medium, 1/2" high. This covers most banjos but there may be exceptions. I take returns of undamaged goods for swaps plus post or refund less post. Cut the bags carefully please in case you need to return.
